Must-Haves For Every Homepage

entry DATE:

These 6 sections should be on every homepage!

Your homepage is your first impression to potential clients visiting your website! It’s not just a digital welcome mat to your pretty website. It’s your chance to make a lasting impression and turn visitors into actual, loyal clients!

If you already have a website or are in the middle of designing it yourself, here are the 6 must-have sections I suggest for every website’s homepage:

01 // These 3 answers

Your Home page needs to answer these 3 questions, preferably in the hero:

  • Who are you? Whether you go by your name or a business name.
  • What do you do? The type of business you run should be clear.
  • Where do you operate? Adding your location is important. It will help potential clients to see in a blink if you operate within their area.

02 // A clear header

Every section of your website should be accessible in just one click from your home page.

This is why you need to have a clear menu. It will provide a better experience to your visitors, so they won’t feel that they’re in a maze.

Restrict yourself to 8 items max (only the most important sections). The names of your sections should be short and straightforward.

03 // Mini introduction about you

Give a short and sweet introduction of yourself, just enough to make people want to read more about you.

Some examples of what to include are your name, what made you start your business, a fun fact, etc.

04 // Overview of services

Having an overview of your services is a necessity.

It gives your visitors a quick glance at what type of business you are, what packages you may have, and a little peek at your portfolio. Be sure to provide a CTA!

05 // Client testimonials

This is a no-brainer and should really be on every page!

You should have testimonials easily accessible to your visitors so they can see that you are legit and have worked with real people.

06 // Footer with your Instagram feed linked

Another crucial part of your website since it provides your visitors with another place to navigate through your website.

Including your Instagram feed can entice visitors to follow you and keep up with your business, rather than exiting your website and forgetting you. You can also include contact info, newsletter opt-in, etc.

Crafting the perfect home page for your photography website is an art form, but with the right balance of creativity and strategy, you can leave a lasting impression that keeps visitors coming back for more!

Of course, if you want someone who is equipped to do all of that for you, you’re in the right place! I would absolutely loveee to help you create the website of your dreams beautifully and strategically! Seriously, you deserve it – click here to view our services or here to contact us!
